Batavia women’s group collects toys for kids in need

Submitted by Batavia Enterprises Inc.

The Batavia Women in Business organization, including Kristen Johnson, property manager; Julie Kotalik, special projects coordinator; and Carolyn Russell, residential representative of Batavia Enterprises Inc., celebrated the holidays Dec. 13 with a Christmas luncheon to benefit Batavia Access Toy Committee.

Almost 100 BWIB members and guests gathered at the Fox Valley Country Club in Aurora to support this Batavia program.

Each individual brought a new, unwrapped gift for the toy drive. The raffle raised more than $300 to be used to purchase additional gifts. Johnson, co-chairman of the BWIB organization, summed up the afternoon, “Christmas is all about helping others. The BWIB organization is happy to support Batavia Access Toy Committee. Our efforts will bring the spirit of Christmas to those who just need a helping hand.”

The organization brings together a growing group of women and men with great ambitions and a drive to succeed while supporting local community organizations. As co-chairwoman, Johnson wanted to meet others like herself who strive to strengthen both professional and personal relationships by surrounding themselves with a network of influential and knowledgeable people who are also active within the volunteer community. Her regular BWIB duties include: leading monthly council meetings, lending support to different committees within the council, keeping the council organized, and supporting its overall mission.
