Why the royal treatment for Blago?

Congratulations for “Blago.” How wonderful, an extra month of freedom before you start your supposed 14-year sentence for corruption. How nice of Judge Zagel granting him extra time to move his family into a new home before he serves his time.

How wonderful and thoughtful of the judge to recommend that he be sent to a low-security prison in Colorado.

What kind of message does this outstanding treatment send to the rest of us mortals? Perhaps crime does pay, and maybe special meals that will appeal to a felon. A life of crime begets a prisoner of 18 corruption related counts. Wow!

I believe when he finally apologized to the judge for his errors, Blago hit his turning point. I certainly hope this episode does not give any ideas to our law-abiding citizens to follow in the footsteps of Rod Blagojevich as I don’t believe the rest of us would be as fortunate as Blago.
