Ordinances Approved on Second Reading

• Authorizing the Village Clerk to make certain closed session meeting minutes available for public inspection.

Other Matters

Approved the following…

• Recommendation from the Finance Committee to approve the 2012 Insurance Renewal with Arthur J. Gallagher and Company with Argonaut as the package insurer. Continuing our existing coverage for the coming year with our current carrier is 14.7% less than this year's fees.

• The former Firestone site within Yorktown Shopping Center was recently razed to make way for a new single story Chase Bank with four drive-through lanes. The construction of the new building required stormwater quality best management practices under the DuPage County Stormwater Ordinance. The Board approved acceptance of the required easements.

• Request for a waiver of bids and to award a contract to Currie Motors in the amount of $49,700 for the purchase of several replacement vehicles for the Police Department. The request was referred to the Public Works and Transportation and Safety Committees for the review of our current policy on replacement of vehicles.

Items For Separate Action

• The Board voted against the request of the Lombard Public Facilities Corporation to pay the shortfall on the Series 2005-A bonds for the Lombard Yorktown Westin Hotel and Conference Center of approximately $911,747.94. Per staff's recommendation there will be sufficient funds in reserve to cover the current shortfall.

Agenda Items For Discussion

• The Board tabled until the meeting of January 5, 2012 discussion regarding the adoption of procedures allowing for the use of electronic attendance at Village Board Meetings.
