Round Lake Beach marks 75th anniversary with beach party

The first of monthly celebrations to mark Round Lake Beach’s 75th anniversary will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8.

“Let’s Get This Year-Long Party Started” is the theme of the beach party to be held at the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, off Hook Drive west of Route 83. The event includes a cookout and refreshments, a campfire, hula dance show, contest, carnival games, indoor beach volleyball, live music and more.

Visitors are encouraged to wear a Hawaiian shirts or beach wear, with prizes being awarded for creativity. Tickets are 75 cents at the cultural center, village hall or at the door. Call (847) 201-9032 or email rlbeachcenter@rlbeach.org for more information.
