Carol Stream man charged in child porn probe

A Carol Stream man has been charged with downloading images of child pornography, authorities said Thursday.
Fernando D. Cruz, 26, of the 600 block of Flame Court, was arrested on two felony child pornography charges after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence Wednesday, Carol Stream Cmdr. Ken George said.
Investigators from the Carol Stream and Bartlett police departments and DuPage County sheriff’s office spent two months on the case, with the assistance of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Authorities seized Cruz’s laptop and other electronic items of evidence from his residence, George said.
Cruz was being held Thursday on $20,000 bail at DuPage County jail.
