Judson invites prospective students for King event

Submitted by Judson University

Judson University invites prospective students to attend an overnight preview event on Jan. 15-16 to explore the Elgin campus, 1151 N. State St. and its programs, and experience student life.

The preview event will allow prospective students to stay overnight in a dorm room with current students, followed by a day of informational sessions about separate program areas and financial aid opportunities, as well as a campus tour. Visitors will also meet staff and faculty, attend chapel, and dine in the cafeteria.

Preview attendees and the community are welcome to attend the 10 a.m. chapel Jan. 16 which will represent Judson’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration.

For more than a decade, the Judson community has welcomed the choir and congregation of Elgin’s Second Baptist Church for this commemorative chapel. The chapel speaker will be the Rev. Nathaniel Edmond, pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Elgin. Edmond is a trustee of Judson and received an honorary doctorate of sacred theology from the university in December 2010.

Those interested in attending the campus preview day can register at www.judsonu.edu/visitJudson.
