Monart student showcase ends Dec. 29
Monart Drawing Studio is currently showcasing the art and creativity of their young students at the Arlington Heights village hall. More than 30 works — in watercolor, marker, graphite, oil pastel, color pencil and chalk pastel — are displayed along with a photo and age of the artist on each matted piece.
“Our beautiful vibrant exhibit of student work demonstrates the profound impact of art instruction,” said Monart owner/director Ellen Sharpe,
The studio is the only licensed Monart School in Illinois. For over 16 years, the studio has offered ongoing classes for children 5 years through adult, teaching the steps to realistic drawing. There are summer and winter camps, birthday parties and other special group sessions.
“I am grateful to the mayor and village hall for their ongoing commitment to the arts, programming, promotion, and exhibition space,” said Sharpe.
The exhibit at the village hall ends Thursday. Village hall is at 33 S. Arlington Heights Road.
