Elect statesmen, not idealogues
Across the country, politicians are redefining congressional districts due to the census. They will attempt to create districts that are as partisan as possible. We will then have elections in those districts and elect a person to represent it. It is no wonder that the person elected is a strong partisan and that results in a House that is very partisan. The voters are responsible.
In the presidential election, the right is trying to find the most partisan candidate to run against Obama. If such a person is elected, then we will have gridlock again just like we have with Obama representing the opinions of the far left. The voters are responsible.
Most voters get their information from a single source — namely Fox News, the mainstream media or MSNBC. Few try to get a balanced perspective so that they see all sides of a debate. They then use this misguided viewpoint to cast their vote. The voters are responsible.
It is time to get serious about our voting preferences and attempt to understand the real issues and elect candidates who are concerned more about the future of our country rather than narrow parochial interests. We need to find candidates who are statesmen rather than ideologues. But remember. it is we the voters who have caused this mess — not the representatives that we have elected.
