Devin Hill leaves Loyola basketball
Devin Hill, a 6-foot-9 senior forward, has decided to leave the Loyola’s men’s basketball program, it was announced Friday.
Hill, who never appeared in a contest as a Rambler, transferred to Loyola for the 2011-12 school year after spending three seasons at DePaul University, where he averaged 4.1 points and 3 rebounds in 67 career appearances. He was sitting out the 2011-12 campaign due to NCAA transfer regulations.
“After reflecting on his future and on the place of basketball in his life, Devin has made a decision to leave the Loyola program because he no longer has a passion for the game,” Loyola head coach Porter Moser said. “It takes a great deal of courage to admit his true feelings and I appreciate his honesty to both his teammates and our staff. The last few years have not been easy for Devin, but he is a terrific young man and we wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.”
In 2010-11 at DePaul, Hill made four starts and averaged 5.2 ppg and 2.4 rpg in five games before missing the remainder of the season with an injury.
