Antioch man, woman facing drug charges
A 22-year-old Antioch man and a 24-year-old Antioch woman were charged after police found cannabis and crack cocaine in their home, according to police.
Timothy Gersch and Samantha Sassolino, who live on the 500 block of Drom Court, were arrested Wednesday morning after police became aware of a “high volume of traffic and suspicious activity” in and around their residence, according to Antioch Police Chief Craig Somerville.
Antioch police obtained a warrant, and the search, which started about 8:30 a.m., turned up 76.9 grams of cannabis, 4.2 grams of crack cocaine and 2.2 grams of a “look-alike” substance, all were packaged for sale, according to police.
Police also said they found a small amount of cash and items used to prepare and package narcotics.
Gersch and Sassolino were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, possession of a look-alike substance, possession of a crack cocaine, and possession of cannabis, police said.
Both are being held in lieu of $10,000 bail and are due in court on Jan. 12.
