St. Charles Drill teams share holiday cheer

Submitted by St. Charles North

The holidays are a time for giving back to the community.

The St. Charles North High School drill teams hosted their seventh annual Girls Holiday Party for the fifth-grade Girls’ Club at Rollins Elementary School in Aurora on Dec. 13. The girls provided more than 50 coats for their winter outdoor education trip, as well as food and holiday gifts. The drill teams teach the girls dances and games, and spend time getting to know one another.

Along with the Rollins Girls Club, the drill teams also participate in The Salvation Army’s annual Giving Tree Program at St. Charles North High School, providing Christmas gifts for needy area children.

On Dec. 15, the high school drill team also participated in the LivingWell’s annual Gingerbread House party, and provided Christmas stockings for children at the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in Geneva.
