St. Charles North drill teams defending champs

The St. Charles North Stars Drill Team off to a great start.

The defending state St. Charles North High School drill teams competed on Dec. 11 at the Team Dance Illinois Regional competition at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School.

St. Charles North varsity and junior varsity took home first-place trophies in the Open Dance, Open Pom, and Lyrical divisions. This was St. Charles North’s first TDI competition for the 2011-12 season.

The varsity team’s score in each dance qualified them for the Team Dance Illinois State Championship Competition, which is scheduled for March 4 in Peoria.

The junior varsity team’s score earned the squad the opportunity to compete at JV Team Dance Illinois State Championship Competition, Feb. 12 at Argo High School in Summit.

The varsity team includes: Michelle Vezina, Allie Isabelli, Monique Perdue, Colleen Lullo, Alison Meisenheimer, Rachel Zima, Audra Stepella, Megan Spaniol, Lindsey Wehking, Jamie Beaulieu, Mariah Carlson, Katie Vojahosky, Megan Allegretti, Kristin Beth, Tricia Novak and Taylor Samanic.

The junior varsity team includes: Eleisse Pettigrew, Nikki Arnold, Bailey Moberly, Taylor Hoekstra, Rachel Wightman, Lindsey Neimann, Alexa Cunningham, Helene Thorsen, Elizabeth Gentile, Lexi Artman, Quinn Samanic, Isabel Miller, Alyssa Arroyo, Marykate Purcell, Kassie Ams, and Kaleigh Bull.
