Christian Liberty falls in OT
Christian Liberty appeared to have little to worry about when it raced out to a 14-point first-quarter lead in its nonconference home boys basketball game with Crossroads.
But the lead gradually eroded as the Chargers (3-5) wound up falling 67-62 in overtime at Grace Gym in Arlington Heights.
Luke Comerouski scored 28 points for the Chargers, who were outscored 7-2 in overtime. Mike Hennek scored 13 points, Kyle Moriarty added 9 points and Marcus Silva chipped in 8 points.
Christian Liberty led 22-8 after a quarter but it was cut to 30-20 at halftime and 41-35 after three quarters.
Morton 60, Leyden 53: Morton (6-1, 2-1) edged Leyden (5-3, 1-2) in the West Suburban Gold game in Franklin Park.
