Puerto Rican council seeks holiday donations
The Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council is seeking donations of small personal hygiene items and toys for children to give as gifts during two holiday caroling sessions called Parrandas.
Singers and musicians playing tambourines, other percussion instruments or an eight-stringed guitar known as “el cuatro” will sing traditional Puerto Rican Christmas songs Friday, Dec. 23, at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maryville and Saturday, Jan. 7, at Hesed House in Aurora.
