Family of Cumberland slayings victims ask for help

CUMBERLAND, Ind. — The family of a 7-year-old girl shot to death with her uncle in his Indianapolis-area home are pleading with the public to come forward with information on the slayings.

Someone shot and killed Kyleigh Crane and 21-year-old Jeremy Crane while the girl stayed with him while home sick from school Monday.

The first-grader’s mother, Holly Wilson, asked anyone who knows anything to talk to authorities Tuesday.

Cumberland Police Chief Mike Crooke says both were shot in the same room of the house a few miles east of Indianapolis.

Crooke says his officers are canvassing the area searching for clues.
