Grateful for act of kindness by stranger
When my husband and I arrived at the Arlington Heights train station at 11:30 at night, we had a dead battery.
We walked across the street to a gas station’s quick mart. The owner phoned someone to come and help us. It would take one hour and cost $65.
Meantime, a man comes in to buy milk and a doughnut. He hears this conversation. He tells us he lives five minutes away and will go home and get his jumper cables.
He did. As the clock struck midnight, it was a lovely sound to hear the motor turn over.
We asked his name. He said it was Mark. Then he said, “God works in strange ways.”
Mark, thank you and God bless you.
