Trail link added:

A small but important linkage to the Millennium Trail system and connection between two forest preserves will be acquired by the Lake County Forest Preserve District. In a special call meeting Tuesday, commissioners voted unanimously to proceed with the purchase of a nearly 5-acre parcel on the east side of Fairfield Road between Nippersink Road and Route 120. Acquisition of the property, which is in foreclosure, will provide a connection between the Nippersink and Kestrel Ridge forest preserves and provide an opportunity to link into the Millennium Trail system. The price for the property, which includes a single-family home and small outbuilding, is just under $200,000. A closing is expected in two to four weeks.
