Raccoon falls through roof of Wis. woman’s home

Associated Press

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A little masked intruder fell through the ceiling of a Wisconsin woman’s home over the weekend, but it wasn’t a burglar.

Sue Ripple of Brandon says she was preparing for bed Saturday evening when she heard a loud crash. The 65-year-old found debris across her kitchen floor, and a raccoon desperately trying to climb a wall toward a hole in the ceiling.

Ripple says it scurried behind the refrigerator and wouldn’t leave. Since it was past her bedtime she used two boards to block the kitchen doorway, and went to bed.

She says she woke up at 3:30 a.m. and found the “little sucker” trying to climb the boards.

As she told The Reporter newspaper , “I said, `You get down from there.”’

Her son eventually helped it escape.
