Gurnee police enforcement results

Gurnee police have results from enhanced impaired driver and safety restraint enforcement activities throughout the village from Nov. 14 to 27. It was the first of 15 scheduled campaigns to be conducted during the 2011-12 Strategic Traffic Enforcement Plan grant year. There were five drug/alcohol-related arrests, 16 safety restraint violations and 29 speeding citations. In all, 65 vehicles were stopped and the total tickets numbered 91. Funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the enforcement actions were conducted to remove drunk and drugged drivers from the roadways and increase safety restraint compliance.
