N. Aurora man gets 44 years for drug possession
A North Aurora man was sentenced to 44 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing a large amount drugs that he planned to sell, Kane County prosecutors said Friday.
Michael E. McGregor, 42, of the 100 block of North Lincolnway, pleaded guilty to one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
His plea was accepted by Associate Judge Allen M. Anderson.
Last January, investigators executing a search warrant at McGregor’s home found more than 200 grams of cocaine, marijuana, about $13,000 in cash, electronic scales and materials to package drugs. Three children also were present in the residence, authorities said.
McGregor had four drug-related convictions between 1995 and 2002 in Kane, Kendall and DuPage counties, and a 1987 burglary conviction in Kane County.
He was given credit for serving at least 332 days in Kane County jail.
