GAB director to speak in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — The director of the state board that reviews signatures in the recall effort against Gov. Scott Walker will be speaking about the recall in Milwaukee.

Kevin Kennedy is the director and general counsel of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, which is in charge of reviewing the recall signatures and ordering an election.

Kennedy will speak Wednesday at a Milwaukee Press Club meeting. He’s expected to discuss the role of the GAB and the status of the recall drives against Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four state senators.

He also expected to talk about how Milwaukee’s inner city residents, senior citizens and students who do not have drivers licenses can still meet the standards of the state’s new voter identification law.
