Tilted Kilt to host two charity events

Tilted Kilt, 2300 Bushwood Drive in Elgin, will host two charity events this month.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, a Toys for Tots charity event will feature a free appetizer buffet for attendees and two live bands — Kharma and S.N.A.F.U. Toys — and donations will be collected for local children.

Tilted Kilt strives to get involved with local philanthropies throughout the year. Patrons who bring an unwrapped toy will receive free admission; otherwise admission is $5, which will be donated to Toys for Tots.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, as part of “Manicures, Martinis & More Monday,” Tilted Kilt will host a food drive to collect canned/boxed food items.

There will be a free appetizer buffet for attendees, $5 martinis and vendors ranging from spa services, clothing, jewelry and more to help guests with their holiday shopping. The food drive will benefit Elgin food pantries, soup kitchens and more.

Patrons who bring in a nonperishable canned item or boxed food item will receive free admission.
