Bartlett troupe presents ‘A Little Christmas Magic’
A new production by Arts in Bartlett’s Adult Theatre will be given at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Bartlett Nature Center, James Pate Phillip State Park, 2054 W. Stearns Road, Bartlett.
“A Little Christmas Magic”, written by Wheaton resident Jim Gustafson, takes place in 1933, when there wasn’t a lot to celebrate on Christmas Eve because the Depression had taken the merriment from the holidays.
A gangster, two thespians, and a pair of newlyweds wind up in a small diner to get out of the cold and a have a hot cup of coffee. But thanks to some surprising turn of events, they find a touch of Christmas Magic. This heartwarming holiday comedy tells an offbeat story of down-and-out strangers discovering the joy of Christmas.
Actors include Bartlett residents Virgina Zachary, Debbie Fowler, Valerie Gugala, Brianne Durfey, Nicholas Curran, Carl Thomas, Dean Pearson and Byron Brown, and Pete Kush of Crystal Lake.
The price of tickets is $10 and includes dessert, refreshments and live music after the play, and can be purchased at the Center for the Arts or online through www.artsinbartlett.org.
