Fresh ideas lacking in White House

Raise taxes, increase regulation and grow government. No, not just the current administration — this has been the mantra of centralizers since 1931. That’s 80 years without a new idea. It did not work then, it did not work during Johnson’s “ Great Society,” and it is not working now. What we need now is fresh thinking.

There are seven men and one woman competing for the chance to run against the worst president in American history, and they are discussing a dizzying array of ideas. Coax American jobs back to these shores by lowering corporate tax rates. Flat taxes. Eliminate job-killing federal agencies. A part-time Congress. Abolish Freddie and Fannie. The list goes on and on.

We are a nation that was grown on ideas that work, and Jefferson said it best when he declared “that governs best which governs least.” Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Stimulus packages do not work. There are not enough rich people to tax our way out of $15 trillion dollars of debt. And clearly, this administration has no clue how to create jobs.

Change we can believe in? It starts in November 2012, with new ideas, ideas that work, for people who want to work.
