Chicagoland Residents Claim Big Prizes in Calendar Raffle for Kids

Donna K., of Berwyn, has claimed one of the top prizes, $25,000, and local Chicago area Mark T. nabbed the $10,000 prize.

Donna originally purchased the Calendars as a fun gift for others, which allowed her to support one of her favorite charities, RMHC-CNI, at the same time.

“As a mother of a one-pound premature infant I am familiar with the many emotional struggles that parents can face,” said Donna. “The environment provided is a ‘home away from home' and the staff genuinely cares about the children."

The new fundraising effort is tied to the sale of a yearly calendar that highlights the stories of children whose lives have been forever changed by the two organizations. 100 percent of all net proceeds from the Calendar sales will go directly to these two local organizations, which are dedicated to helping critically-ill children and their families.

“What RMHC-CNI does for families with children in need is both unique and necessary,” said Mark. “As a father of three children, keeping families together when they are going through tremendous uncertainty regarding their child's health is something that helps that entire family cope better.”

Through Feb. 15, 2012 with the purchase of a calendar for just $25, Illinois residents are automatically entered in a raffle in which they can win cash prizes every day of 2012. Prize drawings include $250 each day, weekly $1,000 “Monday Madness” drawings, $10,000 jackpots the first Monday of every month, and a $100,000 holiday cash prize drawing on January 3, 2012.

“This raffle was just another way that I thought I could help the charity,” Mark added. “I never thought I would win and look forward to using some of the winnings to further support RMHC-CNI and probably another Christmas gift of two for the family!”
