Fire releases two forwards
The Chicago Fire released forwards Cristian Nazarit and Gabriel Ferrari, club officials announced Wednesday.
The Colombian and American youth international spent the 2011 season with the Fire.
“We have mutually agreed with both players that parting ways is in the best interest of both parties and wish them well in the future,” Fire head coach Frank Klopas said.
Nazarit tallied 2 goals and 1 assist over 15 MLS and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup appearances with the Fire after being signed to an MLS contract on May 4.
Ferrari, who earned a spot with the club in preseason, appeared in four competitive matches after being signed on March 24.
