Express clips Wings 4-1

The Chicago Express had a triumphant return to home ice, defeating the Kalamazoo Wings 4-1 Wednesday night at the Sears Centre.

The Express fell behind 1-0 before tying it at 7:16 of the first period when Chad Painchaud, making his home debut, stole the puck behind the Kalamazoo net and quickly found Tyler Donati, who slid a backhander past Wings goalie Riley Gill.

The goal was Donati’s fourth. The Express held a 13-4 shot advantage in the first period.

The Express took the lead at 8:45 in the second period when Chaz Johnson received a Kyle Ostrow pass in front of the net and fired a slap shot that sailed over the net, bounced off the boards, and deflected off the back of Gill into the net.

Mike Embach and Painchaud scored the final 2 Express goals.
