Police make second arrest connected to bar fight
St. Charles police have arrested a second man wanted in connection to a Nov. 29 fight at the Filling Station, 300 W. Main St.
Peter L. Currie, 33, of the 36000 block of Rivergrange Road, St. Charles, turned himself in late last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest on two counts of aggravated battery and mob action.
Bail was set at $50,000 and he posted $5,000 to be free pending trial.
It is unknown when he is next due in court.
According to police, Currie and Jason Nord entered the bar that night and Currie vomited into a glass. The bartender refused to serve either man more alcohol and they later fought with a bouncer, according to authorities and court records.
Nord, 33, of the 300 block of North Fifth Street, St. Charles, is accused of trying to strangle the bouncer, who was treated and released at the scene.
Nord, also facing two counts of aggravated battery and one count of mob action, is next due in court Dec. 16. He was arrested a block away from the scene. Currie fled the scene, police said.
If convicted of the charges, both face up to five years in prison but probation also is an option.
