Algonquin man charged in Elk Grove home burglaries

Elk Grove Village police arrested a 43-year-old Algonquin man in a string of residential burglaries on the west side of town.

Keith W. Gilmore, of the 200 block of Main Street, is being held at the Cook County jail awaiting a Dec. 16 court appearance, police said.

Police arrested Gilmore after a two-week investigation into four burglaries in the neighborhood of Wise Road and Vine Lane.

A witness had identified a woman seen at one of the burglary locations, who led police to Gilmore. Though the woman, also from Algonquin, was with Gilmore during one of the burglaries, she has not been charged.

“She was charged in Plainfield on a residential burglary down there,” Elk Grove police Sgt. Nick Olsen said.

Gilmore has an extensive criminal record and numerous arrests, including for residential burglary, Olsen added.
