Herald brings down an honorable man

Congratulations Daily Herald and reporter Jessica Cilella. You have

successfully brought down our Mayor, Michael Kelly, with your bottom of the barrel front page headline on Nov. 13, 2011. This is a subject that shouldn’t even be considered newsworthy let alone front page. The trashy papers, Star etc., would be proud of you.

What’s the news here but to embarrass someone? Hundreds of people in Hanover Township alone are late with their taxes for one reason or another. Have you even checked this person out as to being a husband, a father to his five wonderful children and a person who every day devotes his time to helping people either through his law practice or through his volunteering with local organizations, etc.?

Again, what is the news here but to try and embarrass a kind and giving person because I believe you fell for someone’s political motives.

Shame on you also, Greg Martin, for your grandstanding. Your actions are questionable. Your statement and I quote from the Herald, “But now, I guess we won’t know the true story of what went down. I just wanted to get to the bottom of why he was late for paying his taxes.”

He was late paying his taxes. He didn’t hurt anybody. He paid the late charges just like everybody else. If you had on your plate as much as Mike Kelly takes on, thinking of other people and not himself, you probably would be late paying your taxes too.

By the way Greg, when your wife keeps reminding you to slow down as you stated, remember, you are breaking the law.
