East Aurora honors WWII veterans

To mark the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, East Aurora High School will honor World War II veterans Tuesday with a flyover and ROTC escort. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the auditorium of the high school, 500 Tomcat Lane in Aurora. The program begins with a flyover of vintage World War II planes. Afterward, members of East Aurora’s ROTC program, the largest in the nation, will escort the veterans into the school. A Comcast’s Emmy award-winning video, “Day of Honor,” also will be shown. The event is sponsored by State Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia. Questions about the event can be directed to her office at (630) 264-6855.
