The Jan. 6-8 concerts, “Forces of Nature: Water & Fire,” will feature guest conductor Daniel Hege. The concerts will feature Kodaly’s “Dances of Galanta,” Haydn’s “Fire” symphony and Stravinsky’s “Firebird.”
Nature’s power reigns in this celebration of the elements that features soloists from the ESO’s musician corps, including Debra Freedland, oboe; Amy Rhodes, bassoon; Gerald Loughney, violin; and Matthew Agnew, cello.
Hege served 11 seasons as the music director of the Syracuse Symphony and in June 2009 was appointed music director of the Wichita Symphony, beginning his tenure with that orchestra in September 2010. He last performed with the ESO in April 2007.
