The skinny: No. 7 Baylor is the highest-ranked nonconference opponent to visit Evanston in 22 years. The Wildcats hosted No. 7 Duke in 1989. The Bears’ 6-foot-11 Perry Jones III, the preseason Big 12 player of the year, made his season debut with 27 points against Prairie View A&M on Tuesday. Jones was suspended during the first five games for receiving improper benefits. Northwestern tied a school record by knocking down 20 3-pointers in Friday’s 92-67 home win over Mississippi Valley State.
