Event marks 6 months since IU student vanished
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A community event is planned to mark the six-month mark of the disappearance of an Indiana University student
The “Support the Spierers” event begins Saturday evening at the downtown Bloomington apartment building where 20-year-old Lauren Spierer of Greenburgh, N.Y., lived before her June 3 disappearance after a night of partying with friends. The Herald-Times reports that plans include readings and a walk to the courthouse square, where participants can attached messages and cards of support to a tree for her family.
The Bloomington Police Department says it has received more than 2,400 tips about Spierer’s disappearance and that a team of investigators still has the case as a priority assignment.
