Custodian arrested after camera found in N. Ind. school
MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Police have arrested a custodian who investigators believe planted a video camera inside the boy’s pool locker room at a northern Indiana high school.
St. Joseph County police didn’t immediately release information about whether any students were videotaped by the camera that was discovered in January at Penn High School in Mishawaka.
WSBT-TV and WNDU-TV report that 53-year-old Robert Troup of Mishawaka was jailed without bond on preliminary charges of manufacturing child pornography and voyeurism.
Troup was arrested Thursday and investigators obtained a search warrant to take computer equipment from his home. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
The school district just east of South Bend says the camera was found inside a locker and that its staff is fully cooperating with the police.
