You can help the North Aurora Mothers Club
As part of its philanthropic mission of improving the lives of the children and families in the community, the North Aurora Mothers Club is helping over 60 local families in need at Christmas time through their Operation Christmas program. Last year with help from the community, Operation Christmas was able to provide gifts, groceries and a traditional holiday meal for over 60 local families in need. With the Christmas season quickly approaching, the North Aurora Mothers Club is still looking to the community to provide support in several different ways:
Monetary or gift card donation: Donations are used to buy gifts for non-sponsored families. All families also receive grocery gift cards for a holiday meal and food. A donation can be mailed directly to NAMC Operation Christmas, P.O. Box 57, North Aurora, IL 60542 by Monday, Dec. 12.Donations of pillows: Many of the families lack some basic necessities like beds and pillows. Operation Christmas has pillow drives for these families. Contact Alisha Capeless at (630) 608-8699 to arrange for the pillows to be picked up/dropped off by Dec. 9. Donations of new clothing, new toys or food: If you would like to help fill the bins of nonperishable food that each family receives, call Molly Kozik at (630) 907-1623 by Dec. 7. If you would like to donate new clothing or new toys, contact Tracy Takeda at (630) 518-1131 to find out what items are needed by Dec. 12. Take a tag from a giving tree: Many local businesses have giving trees where customers can take a tag with a wish list item for a family in need then bring back the wrapped gift by Dec. 11. Local businesses include: Messenger Public Library, Children of America, Goddard School, Liberty Chiropractic, North Aurora Smiles, Olson Chiropractic, Salon 22, Salon 29, Share Care Preschool, Fox Valley Women Children Health Partners, The Rainbow Center, PNC bank, Tanner Trails Community Church, Curves on Indian Trail, Moves Dance Studio, New Hope Lutheran Church, R Kids Closet and Fox Valley Ford.North Aurora Mothers Club is looking forward to the continued support of the community to make this a wonderful Christmas for other local families who would not necessarily have the means to do so for themselves.
