Police ID 2 found shot in southwestern Ill. home

BROOKLYN — Illinois State Police have identified the grandson they suspect shot and wounded his grandmother before turning the gun on himself in the southwestern Illinois village of Brooklyn.

Authorities say 51-year-old Gregg Price and 88-year-old Juanita Clemons were in critical condition Wednesday at a hospital after the shooting earlier that day. There’s no word on their conditions Thursday.

Police say the shooting happened in the home the two shared and that a domestic dispute precipitated the gunfire. The motive remains unclear.

Police Chief Delbert Marion says both victims had gunshot wounds to the head.

Family members at the scene say they had no inkling what may have led to the gunfire.
