Arts in Bartlett to dedicate new center at free event

Arts in Bartlett officially dedicates its new Arts Center at 118 W. Bartlett Ave. #2, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 and a ribbon-cutting at 5 p.m. with the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce and village of Bartlett officials.

The public and Arts in Bartlett members are invited to this free event. Visit the studio of cello teacher Dorothy Deen and meet teaching artist Kathryn Benton in her Color My World Children’s Art Studio.

During the open house, all items in the Holiday Gallery — art, photography, jewelry, ornaments, holiday decor, cards, music boxes, and other one-of-a-kind items from 20 local artists and crafters — will be discounted 10 percent. From Dec. 1-4, a Bargain Boutique will host items donated by local artists priced from $1 to $5.

Ÿ After the tree-lighting in Bartlett Park at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, Arts in Bartlett hosts First Friday Open Mic and Caroling.

Ÿ From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, refreshments and bargains; free tote bag to all visitors and a free T-shirt with purchase.

Ÿ 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, a free Family Arty Party led by teaching artist Kathryn Benton. Homemade cookies, apple cider and create a special holiday decoration to take home. Usborne Book consultant Candace Lezon will have a book show. Free.
