Lombard names interim fire chief

LOMBARD, Illinois— Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Howell will serve as interim Fire Chief, effective with Fire Chief Mike Torrence's retirement date of January 20, 2012. The appointment was announced today by Village Manager David Hulseberg.

Howell has served as Lombard's Assistant Fire Chief since October 2010.

A formal search will be conducted to fill the position of Lombard Fire Chief. An internal search committee will be formed and the hope is to fill the position by March 31, 2012, according to Hulseberg.
