Lavelle Law helps with Palatine Food Drive

With Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz on hand, attorneys and staff members of Lavelle Law Ltd. moved the bountiful donations from this year’s annual Palatine Food Drive from drop-off locations to the Palatine Township Food Pantry last week. The eighth annual communitywide effort produced a near-record amount of donations to support the local agency which is experiencing a significant need this year.

“I appreciate the mayor taking time to stop by again as he has done in years past,” said Kerry Lavelle, Lavelle Law founding partner and originator of the Palatine Food Drive. “Our firm was very pleased to be able to make such a significant donation to the Palatine Township Food Pantry.”

The drive lasted approximately four weeks with more than a dozen drop-off locations located throughout Palatine. The Lavelle Law team picked up the donations of food, diapers and other necessities throughout the drive. The culmination of the event was Thursday, Nov. 17, as volunteers helped load trucks to deliver all of the goods to the Township Food Pantry.

As part of this year’s drive, Lavelle has also arranged for 50 turkeys to be delivered to the Palatine Township Food Pantry Monday, Nov. 21. The donation was made possible through the generous support of Edmar Foods.

“All of us at Lavelle Law want to express our most sincere thanks and appreciation to Edmar, all of our sponsors, and the residents of Palatine for making this major donation possible. I think we have brightened the holiday season for a number of people who need it,” said Lavelle.
