Boeing sees ‘no reason to doubt’ AMR’s jet order still pivotal

Boeing Co. said it has “no reason to doubt” that a July order for 200 single-aisle jets remains pivotal to American Airlines parent AMR Corp., the carrier that sought bankruptcy protection today.

“We anticipate as part of American’s reorganization that new, fuel-efficient airplanes will be a key part of their ongoing success,” Mark Hooper, a spokesman for the Chicago- based planemaker, said in an e-mailed statement.
