Wis. officials offer winter survival website
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin officials are reminding people across the state to check a disaster preparedness website for winter survival tips.
The ReadyWisconsin website contains instructions on how to build a winter survival kit, explanations of winter weather watches and warnings, tips on what to do if you become stranded and winter weather statistics.
The site also includes a video featuring NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth imploring drivers to keep winter survival kits in their vehicles. Kenseth, a Cambridge native who won the Daytona 500 in 2009, is serving as a state spokeswoman for winter safety.
