Downers Grove man injured in Chicago shooting
A 19-year-old man from Downers Grove was injured in a shooting on Chicago’s West Side, Chicago police officials said Saturday afternoon.
Four other men, including the 18-year-old brother of the wounded driver, were in the car when someone opened fire on the vehicle, officials said. However, no one else was injured in the shooting.
The unidentified 19-year-old victim was in the 2800 block of Lexington Street at 2:40 a.m. Saturday when an unknown gunman fired four or five times at the vehicle, officials said.
At least one of the shots went through the back window of the 2004 Volkswagen Passat and hit the driver, officials said.
The victim continued driving until he stopped at Rush University Medical Center, where he was treated. He was in stable condition at Rush University when police were contacted, officials said.
