Music notes: You'll like Ike
Gritty rock 'n' roll
Libertyville native Ike Reilly will be appearing with his band, Ike Reilly Assassination, in the city this weekend. Reilly is touring behind his recent solo record, “Hard Luck Stories,” which features more of Reilly's compelling lyrics and his genre-blending approach to rock, which includes touches of R&B, hip-hop, blues and classic pop.
9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. $20. Go to doubledoor.com.
Jam session
Burn off some of the calories you ingested on Thanksgiving by checking out Trippin Billies, a Dave Matthews tribute band, this weekend in the suburbs. Trippin Billies only plays Dave Matthews original songs, along with tunes that Matthews has covered in the past. It promises to be a night of dancing and jamming.

Hip-hop kings
In today's hip-hop world, stars don't get much bigger than Jay Z and Chicago native Kanye West. Each is a commercial and critical smash on his own, but the pair decided to join forces earlier this year on the record “Watch the Throne.” From Jay Z's tough, street-influenced rapping style to West's unique sense of song structure and flow, this is a concert that should not be missed.
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 1, at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison St., Chicago. $29.50-$250. Go to ticketmaster.com.
