Good reasons abound to volunteer
As teenagers begin high school and begin compiling their activities resume, it's important that they have a competitive edge. What better advantage then volunteering and being a part of the community?
The Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center is an after-school program that runs during the school year and for around five weeks in the summer. It's where underprivileged and refugee kids receive help with their homework and other subjects. All of their families are also currently living below the poverty line.
Volunteering anywhere is beneficial to the organization while benefiting one's own being. Helping others is very rewarding for high school students, who spice up their college resumes while assisting those in need. Wherever they decide to volunteer, they are changing the lives of who they are working with. At the resource center, they need more volunteers to work with kids and tutor them in school while creating unforgettable bonds.
Although there are copious benefits to helping those in need, many still aren't volunteering in the community. A commonly occurring reason is that they do not have enough time. Make time.
Volunteering is full of personal satisfaction while also bettering the world. There is some way to get involved for everyone. High school students should all volunteer in something they are passionate about.
