Man still at large in death of N. Ind. woman, 81

ROCHESTER, Ind. — Police are continuing to search for a third man wanted in connection with the shooting death of an 81-year-old woman at a rural home in northern Indiana.

State police said Friday morning that the tips investigators have received so far about the whereabouts of 24-year-old Roy Bell of Rochester haven’t panned out. A judge has issued an arrest order on charges of murder, robbery and burglary.

Bell has been at large since Wednesday night when he and two others fled on foot after their car crashed during a police chase near Lake Maxinkuckee, about 40 miles south of South Bend. The other two men were captured separately early Thursday.

Wilma Upsall was found dead Tuesday night at the home near Rochester she shared with her daughter and son-in-law.
