Illinois deer harvest down after first weekend
Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 66,501 deer during the opening weekend of the 2011 Illinois Firearm Deer season on Nov. 18-20, according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The seven-day firearm season will conclude the weekend of Dec. 1-4.
Perch prospects:Many area anglers wait most of the year for this week regarding Lake Michigan perch fishing.And those tasty treats have been showing up all around the Chicago area. Hot spots include Belmont, Montrose, and Wilmette Harbors, as well as Navy Pier.Fishing report:Muskie action on the Chain continues to move right along. Lake Catherine is a hot spot as well as Channel Lake.
