This Weekend in the Suburbs: Black Friday and beyond

Toy trains, ZuZu's petals, aging jugglers and and a reopening of a stalwart Arlington Heights restaurant are among the items on the post-Thanksgiving agenda when Sean Stangland and Richard Battin look at The Suburbs This Weekend.

Richard takes a look at the Chicago Botanic Garden's Wonderland Express beginning Friday in Glencoe. It features a plethora of amazing miniature trains and models of Chicago-area landmarks. The display runs through Sunday, January 1.

Sean recommends Fox Valley Repertory's reprisal of last year's popular "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," beginning Friday at the Pheasant Run resort in St. Charles. Adapted from Frank Capra's 1946 classic, the show features George Keating and Anna Hammonds.

Richard wonders how The Flying Karamazov Brothers have held up since he last saw them some three decades ago. The juggling ensemble's "4-Play," production is set for two performances this Saturday at Aurora's Paramount Theater.

And, finally, Sean chats up the Northern Italian restaurant Carlos & Carlos, relocated and reopened in Arlington Heights.Don't pass up the sun-dried tomato-accented lobster ravioli in a basil cream sauce.
