Street closures for Hometown Holidays Nov. 25

The City of Naperville reminds all residents and interested parties of the upcoming street closures that will be in effect throughout Hometown Holidays taking place on Friday, November 25.

Sponsored by the Downtown Naperville Alliance, Hometown Holidays consists of the Friends of Little Friends Electric Light Parade and Grand Illumination ceremony. The parade route only will be a no parking, tow zone from 2 to 5:30 p.m., and streets within the Grand Illumination event area only will be a no parking, tow zone from 1 to 8 p.m.

Parade route streets will be closed beginning at approximately 4 p.m. until approximately 5:30 p.m. The Grand Illumination event area, located on Jefferson Avenue from Eagle Street to Main Street, will be closed beginning at approximately 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Parade route streets are re-opened to traffic as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it is safe.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. The Grand Illumination ceremony will begin at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays through the afternoon and evening hours in and around the downtown area and take alternate routes or allow extra time to get to their destination. A color-coded map of the street closures is located on the City's website at www.naperville.il.us/hometownholidays.aspx. The map requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.
