Join in 'Jinglebell Jubilee' Dec. 3
LOMBARD, Illinois—The sixth annual “Jinglebell Jubilee” is scheduled for December 3 in downtown Lombard.
The event brings together various community partners to coordinate a variety of holiday events on the same day so that residents may take advantage of them on the same day.
One of the highlights of the annual event is the arrival of Santa downtown by fire truck, where he will assist Lombard Village President Bill Mueller in the official lighting of the Village Christmas tree. This will take place at approximately 5:15 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for everyone to get in the holiday spirit. We're excited to gather at the tree at Main and St. Charles at 4:30 p.m., along with the Glenn Westlake Middle School Festival Choir, where we'll be singing carols as we await the much anticipated arrival of Santa by fire truck,” said Yvonne Invergo, Executive Director of the Lombard Chamber of Commerce, one of the partner sponsors.
Other activities of the event include:
• 3-5 p.m.—Lombard Town Centre kids' activities, carolers, free cocoa and cookies, winter wonderland window displays
• 5:15 p.m.—Chamber of Commerce/Village of Lombard lighting of holiday tree and Santa's arrival by fire truck
• 6-8 p.m.—Helen Plum Library hosts Glenbard East Madrigal Singers and Christmas at the Library
• 6-8 p.m.—Lombard Park District lighting of Lilacia Park, Santa & train rides, along with a winter clothing drive
• 6-8 p.m.—Lombard Victorian Cottage Museum Christmas tours
• 6-8 p.m.--Horse-drawn carriage rides from Lombard Historical Museum to the Lombard Bible Church
Lombard Bible Church will serve as a warming center throughout the duration of the event and attendees will have the opportunity to get photos with Jingles the reindeer.
All activities are free.
“The annual tree lighting provides families with a great tradition to spend time together in our hometown,” said Mueller. “Our community partners come together to make this event happen and it truly represents the holiday spirit that Lombard embraces,” Mueller added.
